Life is a series of moments that can feel like chaos, especially when we’re in transition. We’re constantly being pulled in different directions—work, family, personal aspirations—and it’s easy to lose sight of where we’re headed. I know this because I’ve lived it. After spending two decades in the corporate world, I found myself running on empty, navigating a life that didn’t quite align with my purpose and values. I was thriving in my career, leading teams of talented women, passionate about helping them grow, but something was missing.
I wasn’t living intentionally.
Intentions are powerful, and they’re often the missing link between feeling overwhelmed by life’s demands and creating a life that feels meaningful. When we take the time to set an intention, we’re no longer just reacting to the world around us. Instead, we begin to shape our external reality from a place of inner clarity. This isn’t about manifesting your dream life overnight; it’s about creating space—space to breathe, to reflect, to grow.
Intentions help us find our way back to ourselves, even when the world feels noisy. For me, it was yoga and meditation that provided this stillness. These practices didn’t just help me calm my mind; they became tools for me to navigate the changes I was experiencing. It was within the silence of meditation that I could finally hear the whispers of what I truly wanted. It was in the rhythm of my breath during yoga that I felt grounded enough to step forward into the unknown.
But here’s the thing about intention: it’s not just a one-time practice.
Setting an intention is the beginning, but the real work happens when we return to that intention day after day. This is where the power of practices like yoga, meditation, and breathwork comes into play. Each time we engage in these practices, we’re reminding ourselves of our purpose. We’re creating internal shifts that begin to reflect in our external world.
For me, creating The Holding Space was about giving women the tools to find this stillness amidst their chaos. The practices we offer—yin and restorative yoga, breathwork, meditation, coaching—are all rooted in helping you reconnect with yourself. Because when you’re able to embrace stillness, no matter what’s happening around you, that’s when transformation begins.
There’s a misconception that transformation is about action. Don’t get me wrong action is important. But real transformation? That comes from within. It’s the quiet moments of reflection, the subtle shifts in perspective, the willingness to sit with yourself and ask, “What do I truly want?”
Practices like yoga and meditation are powerful because they create space for these moments. When you come to your mat, you’re not just doing physical postures—you’re permitting yourself to slow down. You’re telling yourself that it’s okay to be still. And in that stillness, you might just find the answers you’ve been searching for.
The beauty of intention is that it’s not about perfection. You don’t need to have it all figured out. You don’t need to know exactly where you’re going. All you need is the willingness to start—to set the intention, to show up for yourself, and to trust that the way will appear.
And so, I invite you to take a moment today to reflect on your own intentions.
What do you want to create in your life? What’s been calling to you, quietly, waiting for you to listen? Maybe it’s a shift in your career, a desire to connect more deeply with yourself or others, or perhaps it’s simply the need to find peace amidst the busyness of everyday life. Whatever it is, know that the practices we offer at The Holding Space are here to support you in that journey.
Transformation doesn’t happen overnight, but it begins with a single step. And with the power of intention, that step can lead to incredible change.
So profound and so true🌟
